Costume Designer Bio

Costume Designer
Pauline Trigere
I chose Pauline Trigere because of her sophisticated and classic look of her clothing. Pauline was born in Paris, France in 1909. Pauline started her career in fashion at the age of ten assisting her mother with her sewing.  Her mother and father were both involved with fashion.  Her mother was a dressmaker and her father a tailor.  At the age of twenty-five, Pauline moved to New York.  She found work at Hattie Carnegie with Travis Banton.  In 1942 Pauline opened her own fashion house with her brother Robert Trigere.  Her first small collection of twelve dresses was bought by department stores all over the country. By 1959 came around Pauline was inducted into the Coty Hall of Fame.  Her style continued over into her old age with stylish pill boxes for the elderly.  In 2002 Pauline died at the age of 93.

  1. nice biographical info of a fashion designer with a full life. I would have liked to see her costume designs too, but this was a good report.
